So I’ve always been interested in art and nature for as long as I can remember. Slowly it grew and grew into what it is today. At times I wonder if the path I took was the right one. I guess there is no one way or right one because there are many ways to do the same thing. A better question to ask myself is “am I happy with how I have developed as an artist and person?” I definitely have a lot to learn, but I am happy with the direction I have taken. We can’t always choose what happens to us, but we can react in a positive way to how we deal with trials and new circumstances each day. This is my life right now. I create jewelry, I do photography, I love wilderness survival and all primitive or basic skills needed to survive. I hope my art can reflect a piece of who I am and the everyday choices I make.
Award winning designer and accomplished bench jeweler Justin combines his knowledge of design and bench skills to create extraordinarily beautiful engagement rings, bands and other crafts. In 1996 he started learning about jewelry in Lao P.D.R. as an apprentice, which inspired him to continue his career in jewelry when he returned to the U.S. Justin has traveled around the world learning about other cultures. Observing such diversity in his travels has inspired him to create very unique engagement rings and custom jewelry. His skills at the bench for more than 26 years insures that each design is technically engineered to the highest quality, while his natural gift for art brings the pieces to life.
Justin also uses the latest technology to build his designs. He turns a completed sketch into the 3d world where everything can be made to the exact dimensions before it gets manufactured. His extraordinary imagination transforms ideas into a reality that can be worn by others. It is his desire that you too will capture the uniqueness of all his pieces and desires that you may share in his ideas by wearing his designs.
Photography is another area of interest. With Justin's natural eye for design photography has become more than just a hobby. Capturing a piece in time in a unique style is important in creating a beautiful photograph. He loves to take photos of almost anything that catches his eye. He also like to enhance photos or even create compositions using masking techniques in Photoshop.
Retouching photographs can help improve the quality and design of each piece. Justin can be artistic and technical in creating beautiful photographs that you'll enjoy.
Crafts are something he's been doing his whole life. Always making something with his hands has helped him develop skill that turn his projects into pieces of art. Justin loves to work with leather, clay, and many other natural products from nature. Lots of these crafts take a very long time to make and so lots of times they are done for enjoyment or as a hobby so they are not for sale. Ones that are for sale will be listed in the craft section of this site. If interested in any of his projects just contact him and see what can be done.
