 Book An Appointment

Here you will be able to book a private class with me to learn the basics in jewelry making, coil pottery or bow drill fire making. Not everything can be learned in one class. I like to take it one step at a time so as you learn and would like to learn more you can book classes for multiple times or Saturdays and we’ll continue learning from where you left off. :)

Why take courses from me?

  • I have years of experience in jewelry making. I’ve worked at the bench for over 20 years repairing jewelry, casting, setting stones, pearl restringing, and 18 years working in CAD.

  • I love outdoor survival and I taught it for many years to youth. Bow drill fire making is what I do best. I have the materials already for use. I will teach you some different materials that are usable here in the desert. Next time you go hiking outdoors whether in your neighborhood or in the mountains, you will have a better understanding of what to look for so you can build a new fire set when yours wears out.

  • Coil pots. I’ve never taken classes, but have learned from others that have taught me how it works. Hiking around the desert a lot in my youth I was able to experiment with different clay that I found. Some red, some green and some grey. I’ve experimented with them and have learned that not all clay is great clay and it can be a challenge to combat shrinkage. The clay we use in class will just be a grog type clay that fires at lower temperatures. We would be firing them in a pit fire. I do have a kiln but will only use upon request.
